The Techy, Shutterbug Singer

Hi, I'm Mikey. Thanks for stopping by.

By profession, I'm a Linux Support Engineer with more than two decades in IT. I've spent years solving technical problems, working with Linux systems, and helping keep things running when they decide they no longer want to. These days, I'm also learning Python and building my own projects, one bug, one commit, and one lesson at a time.

Technology has always fascinated me, but so has photography.

Give me a camera and I'll happily spend hours wandering the streets looking for interesting light, genuine moments, or a composition that most people would walk straight past. Street photography is where I feel most at home, although I also enjoy fashion photography when the opportunity comes along. I love the challenge of telling a story with a single image.

Lately, a lot of my spare time has been spent exploring artificial intelligence and open source software. AI is changing the way we build, learn, and solve problems, and I want to understand it properly rather than simply follow the latest headlines. I enjoy experimenting, asking questions, and sharing what I discover along the way. If something can make people more productive, more creative, or simply make life a little easier, I'm interested.

My Christian faith is the foundation that everything else is built on. It shapes how I approach life, my work, and the way I relate to people. You'll occasionally see that reflected in what I write, although this blog is primarily about technology, photography, and the things I'm learning.

When I'm not behind a keyboard or a camera, you'll probably find me singing at church. It's a welcome change of pace and a reminder that there's more to life than servers, code, and software updates.

This blog is where I share what I'm learning, the mistakes I make, the lessons I pick up, and the occasional opinion that has been carefully thought through. Whether it's Linux, Python, AI, photography, or something completely unexpected, I hope you'll find something here that's useful, interesting, or perhaps even encouraging.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll stick around.
